Stage? No way, that short fuse and willingness to go there killed any chance of him doing anything like live comedy. A play, maybe, but nothing with hecklers.
He's probably much safer with editing. (checks IMDB) Since the 2006 rant, he's only done a few episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm and a season of that Kristie Alley show.
I like the guy - thought he was going to be our next Christopher Lloyd.
